Introduction

Opening Remarks:

I welcome you all to the maiden edition of my agricultural  blog spot. My mission is to promote agriculture and to bring more people and investment into the sector. I chose this topic because agriculture is my world – where my passion lies. Most importantly, I feel the urge to write about agriculture especially to inject , and encourage, a much needed, more youthful generation into the sector. Information needs to be shared and sent out to people – young and old – who may be nursing a passion for agriculture but who cannot take the initial steps into the field because of a dearth of facts. In view of the social media’s efficiency and effectiveness, I am adopting the medium of a blog to bridge this information gap, especially among youths and others who find accessing news through information and communications technology easy. This blog will include the latest news on events, practitioners, agro-industries, market information, contemporary farming practices, and opportunities in the complete value chain and so on. My overall objective is to build a strong supply chain of agricultural produce and to enhance sustainable development in the sector.

I look forward to a very exciting, interactive and educational time with you on this platform. My subsequent posts will detail the activities in which I have been involved as a key member of the movement to implement the Agricultural Transformation Agenda championed by the dynamic, indefatigable leader, Dr Akinwumi Adesina.
